The interdisciplinary ALTEREGO consortium comprised 4 academic partners, 2 technology providers and industrial end-users from 5 European countries. The composition of the consortium reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the project that bridges from detailed modelling and experimentation of alternative energy-activated processes over process development to industrial implementation of example processes. The members were carefully chosen to guarantee the industrial relevance and impact by the participation of highly innovative companies (JANSSEN PHARMACEUTICA, AKZO NOBEL). The relevant scientific foundations are covered by experts in the fields of multi-scale modelling and experimentation of intensified multifunctional reactor units (TU Dortmund University, TU Delft), process intensification using alternative energy forms (TU Delft, KU Leuven, University of YORK), alternative energy technology providers (SAIREM, SMART MATERIAL) and EU project management (EU Project Office at TUDO).
